Community Education & Awareness
Changing conversations. Reducing stigma. Strengthening care
Spreading Awareness
Community education is a vital part of Atlantic Wellness’s Circle of Care. Beyond providing therapy, we work to increase understanding of mental health, reduce stigma, and ensure young people, families, and educators know how - and when - to seek support.
By meeting people where they are, we help build communities that are more informed, more compassionate, and better equipped to support youth mental wellbeing.

Turning Awareness into Access
Our community education work goes beyond information-sharing. Through school presentations, community events, and media engagement, we normalize conversations about mental health and connect people to timely, professional support.
- presenting in schools and youth-serving spaces
- hosting and participating in community events
- sharing expert insights through radio, news, and public forums
Education is prevention. When young people and the adults around them understand mental health earlier, barriers to care are reduced — and help comes sooner.
School Presentations: Reaching Youth Where They Are
During the 2024–2025 school year, Atlantic Wellness delivered more than 16 hours of school-based presentations, reaching students across a range of settings — from informal lunch-hour booths to full auditorium sessions.
- increase mental health literacy
- normalize help-seeking
- share practical tools and coping strategies
- connect students directly to available supports
By engaging youth early and openly, we help create safer, more supportive school environments and strengthen the pathway to care within our broader Circle of Care.
Community education is how Atlantic Wellness extends care beyond the therapy room - building understanding today that supports mental health for years to come.

Public Speaking & Outreach
Members of our team have been invited to speak on youth mental health to other organizations, on panels, and at events. We strive to attend every opportunity that presents itself, as this could be the time we connect with someone who wasn’t aware of our services and needs them.
We’ve also been invited to host booths at events around wellness or mental health, in local schools, colleges, and public day festivals.
In the News & On the Radio
Nothing warms our hearts like being reached out to by local media to speak on our campaigns, initiatives, or youth mental health in general. We’ve been fortunate to do many radio interviews and even get our chance in the spotlight during the evening news.
